About Olie & Hythe Auto Electrics

Olie completed a 5 year vehicle electrics apprenticeship with Auto Electrics Garage ‘Eric Petts’ in Folkestone, moving on to work as a mobile auto electrician with RS Connect. Following that he moved on to Euromotive as an electrics specialist converting vans into accessible minibuses and Patient Transport Service (PTS) vehicles. His last role prior to founding Hythe Auto Electrics was with Volvo Dealer, M C Truck & Bus.

Olie started Hythe Auto Electrics in 2013 as a side-hustle until finally biting the bullet and going full-time right in the middle of the 2020 Pandemic. 

After 2 years servicing classic cars and private vehicles it was clear to Olie that there was an even bigger unappreciated market servicing campervan electrics. So he switched to full-time camper and motorhome electrics in early 2023 and hasn’t worked on anything else since.

As a professional Auto Electrician of some 16 years he has the benefit of both understanding the vehicle electrics as well as the leisure battery systems customers want fitted. 

This advantage comes in handy with customers who simply want van repairs rather than work on the leisure side. 

His unique insight in vehicle electrics  includes his ability to build adaptations to integrate with existing or replace out dated systems.

With an emphasis on electrical safety and accuracy he wires and installs  parts on all makes of vans, prior to conversion, during conversion or after conversion. 

Customers can expect a high quality install and commissioning of parts sourced from well respected renewable energy suppliers, including Victron Energy, Renogy and Roamer Batteries.
